Hi, I'm Ava Grey! I am a 25-year-old, bald, petite, runway and print model, located in Chicago, Illinois.
The Baldie
At the age of 3, Ava asked her mom to lock her hair so that she can look more like her. Due to this, Ava would get bullied because she had dreadlocks, instead of long straight hair like the other girls. The "pretty girls" according to her peers. Ava combed her hair out when going into high school so that she could be seen as "pretty" amongst her new peers. Hoping this change would make high school easier for her. However, the bullying continued.
In 2017, while in undergrad, Ava decided to make a drastic change. Ava became a baldie. Since cutting off her hair, Ava has truly felt as if she is her best self. Allowing her to redefine for herself, and soon the entire world, what the true definition of "pretty" is: your best self.
The Life
Ava Grey was discovered in 2017 when auditioning for her first runway show, EnspiRED, while in undergrad. Modeling for EnspiRED opened the doors for Ava to model in other fashion shows on campus, and even compete for the title of Miss Michigan USA.
Ava's most recent work includes working with well-known photographers including T.J. Williams and well-known designers including Sara Rose. Ava is an ambassador for fashion and beauty labels such as AfroCon Apparrell and Holly Girl Lip Colors. Ava's most proud of walking in L.A. Fashion Week in March of 2022.
